Laser cutter air assist upgrade – part 5

Once again I overhauled my air assist assembly. The drag chain method never really worked flawlessly; the main problem being the chain obstructing the laser path in some cases.

So once again I went back to the drawing board, and figured out a much more elegant solution. I bought a cheap spiral airhose from Ebay, and simply installed it between the lens holder and the pressure valve. It doesn’t need additional support, and stretches and compresses without ever being in the way.

Finally I can put this air assist business to rest. I am now completely happy with how it works as a whole.
