Table restoration

Here’s another quick one.

Restoration may sound a bit dramatic, but I really believed this table was destined to go to the landfill sooner rather than later. Not only was the wood worn badly, the legs were also cracked and split in some places.

Nevertheless, I took my sander to it and it turned out I got the original wood color back in no time. So i decided to take the legs off and sand all visible surfaces.

I then took the legs and squeezed glue deep into the cracks in order to stabilize them again. After drying and sanding off the excess glue, everything was ready for applying the finish.

I had a can of teak oil around, so I used that for finishing. The result is astonishing as you can see. I assembled the table again and not only does it look like new once more, but it’s also finally standing firmly on its legs again.
