Christmas puzzles

First of all a happy New Year to all readers! This blog has been around for four years now, and it seems people are liking it, so expect more to come!

Then again, around the end of the year I usually don’t post all that much projects, so it’s been very quiet for a couple of weeks now.

I do have an actual explanation for this though: our national department of defense always releases a series of cryptologic puzzles for the public to solve. It’s a fun way to get the public interested in crypto and give the old brain cells a good workout. The puzzles are pretty advanced though and I’ll easily spend days or even weeks on some of the harder ones.

So the blog is put on the backburner for a bit. The contest is still going, but we’re getting to the final weeks, so expect new content very soon.

Actually, one of the puzzles was an actual jigsaw puzzle. Some people solved it in MS Paint, others printed it on a sheet of paper and cut out the pieces. But what does a man with a lasercutter do?

Yup 😉
